Period between years 1919 and 1934 in Vienna’s history is known as the period of Red Vienna (German: Rotes Wien). This term refers to the social, political, and urban reforms introduced by the ruling Social Democratic Party of Austria. Among the most significant achievements of this era was the expansion of modern residential complexes, whose expressionistic architectural forms still resonate today.

The series Red Vienna  consists of collages created from baryta paper prints, divided according to a mathematically determined order. This calculated approach echoes the methods of modernist architects, who aimed to construct social frameworks from the ground up through rational, methodical planning. Colored with photographic dyes, cut and rearranged fragments of these photographs form abstract compositions, evoking the proportions found in both modernist architecture and art.
